News from our latest Events

2022 has been a great year so far. Our members have been busy with rallies and tests and of course are looking forward to Camp 2022.

Cross Country Practice in Ballindenisk - March 18th

What better way to spend our extra Bank Holiday for 2022 than out and about with your pony. Our C+ candidates had a rally in Ballindenisk in preparation for their C+ test. We ran a second rally for those interested in some xc schooling. Everyone enjoyed the wide selection of fences in Ballindenisk - a great day of learning for ponies and riders.

Riding & Road Safety Exam - January 2022

2022 began with our Riding & Road Safety training and the test was held in late January. Muskerry were delighted that all 14 members who undertook the training passed their Riding and Road Safety Test. They knew their stuff and were able to cope with everything they encountered on the road including the unexpected (a bowling match!). Well done Adam Sweeney, Alice O'Callaghan, Amelia Scott, Anna O'Leary, Aoibhinn Lucey, Éabha Devereux, Ella Buttimer, Frankie Lucey, Kirsten O'Mahony, Lily Mazur, Róisín Lucey, Sarah McGuire, Seódín Buttimer, and Siobhán O'Halloran.

2021 was a short year with Jan - April restricted due to Covid, but once we got the green light we were out and about with our ponies and I think it is safe to say we had a good year overall.

Looking forward to 2022.

Great selection of fences and good fun had by all.

In late November we managed to get two groups out training in Coachford Equestian Centre. Wayne Santry made sure everyone was safe and learnt lots but there was also no shortage of fun to be had.

Funday / Sunday Rally

Another great training rally with Elena FitzGerald in Mid-November. One a miserable November day we all managed to get out and about, learning and having fun with our ponies.

Halloween Spooktacular Rally

Over Halloween some of our members got into the spirit of the season but also learnt lots at a rally with Elena FitzGerald.

C Test Success for our Members

After a false start with our C Test Training in the spring our members came at it again in the Autumn. Across September the members trained hard and they successfully completed their test in early October. Many thanks to our trainer Norma Lucey and examiners. Well done to all of them.

C+ Test

We also had members who worked hard toward and successfully completed the C+ test. Some of these members had also started the training in the spring but were determined to complete. Training took place in September and all the Muskerry members including one from Carbery were successful. Many thanks to their trainer Ellen Beardsley and their examiners Mary Allen and Marie Hennessey (who also kindly hosted us). Well done all.

B Test Success

Despite Covid and intermitant lockdowns our member Nicola Kiernan managed to complete her B test training over the summer and successfully completed her test in early September. Well Done Nicola (and Marty!) - What a great achievement

3 Day Clinic

All our club members were so disappointed when our annual Pony Club Camp could not happen in early July. It is the highlight of our club year and was sorely missed. We did however manage to have fun at our three day clinic later in July. We trained across two days and did a practice one day event on the final day. Lots of learning and fun and many thanks to Lucey Equine Centre who hosted us.
